Physical gold (low-cost)
This product tracks the price of gold and is backed by real gold bars in a London vault. It does the same job as the gold fund already on the site but charges a lower yearly fee. Growth stays in the price, with nothing paid out.

About this fund
The ETC aims to track the London gold price and is secured by 100 percent allocated physical gold bars held with HSBC as custodian. At 0.12 percent a year it is one of the cheapest gold products available to European retail investors. It is a genuine lower-cost alternative to the existing iShares gold holding rather than a duplicate of the same product.

Frequently asked questions
Is GLDD.L accumulating or distributing?
Amundi Physical Gold ETC (C) (GLDD.L) is an accumulating ETF, so its dividends are reinvested automatically inside the fund instead of paid out as cash. The value compounds in the share price, which keeps things simple since the dividends are reinvested for you instead of arriving as cash you would otherwise have to reinvest yourself.
What is the annual fee (TER) for GLDD.L?
GLDD.L has a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.12% per year. On a $10,000 holding that is roughly $12 a year, charged inside the fund rather than billed to you separately. A lower fee leaves more of the return compounding for you over time.
Can I buy GLDD.L on Interactive Brokers?
Yes. GLDD.L trades on LSE, USD and is available to investors worldwide through Interactive Brokers (IBKR). IBKR is the most popular way to buy UCITS ETFs because of its low FX conversion cost (around 0.03%) and low trading commissions.
What does GLDD.L invest in?
Amundi Physical Gold ETC (C) (GLDD.L) tracks the Gold spot price (LBMA PM fixing). This product tracks the price of gold and is backed by real gold bars in a London vault. You buy one fund and get the whole basket in a single trade.
How risky is GLDD.L?
On the TickerCompare 1 to 5 scale, GLDD.L is rated medium risk (3/5), based on how much its price has moved historically. Higher-risk funds can fall further in a downturn, so match the choice to your time horizon and how much volatility you can stomach.
